If I’ve Only One Life, Let Me Live It

One of the most satisfying experiences I know is fully to appreciate an individual

in the same way I appreciate a sunset.

When I look at a sunset…I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a little more on the right hand

corner, and put a bit more purple along the base,

and use a little more pink in the cloud color…’

I don’t try to control a sunset.

I watch it with awe as it unfolds.

Yesterday I longed to watch the sun set over the ocean but it wasn’t to be ~ but who could complain when what I got yesterday was so beautifully perfect anyway!

This afternoon we finally found ourselves back on the mountain after what feels likes weeks of no mountain climbing. With a few clouds in the sky, as the sun sank lower, a cool nip in the air nibbling at our finger tips, we headed up Lion’s Head for our mid-week hike ~ something that is fast becoming my tonic!

I must apologise, I have become lazy in the sense that I only take my phone with me as it’s convenient to slip in and out of my pocket and I use this to take my photo’s. I promise next time I will take my camera so as to bring you better quality photo’s!

Tonight, the photo’s can speak more words that I ever could and tonight, the sunset did not disappoint!

Across the way Table Mountain with some wispy clouds passing by.

Our destination ~ the top of Lions Head hidden by a misty cloud.

The sun sinking lower as we made our way up.

The Twelve Apostles lined with streaks of cloud.

Making our way to the top.

Cape Town Harbour and the city below.

One of my favourite, favourite pastimes ~ watching the sun set.

The sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean.

The Twelve Apostles with the changing skyline as a backdrop.

Donna enjoying the view with the Twelve Apostles behind her.

For just a moment I turned my back on the setting sun to have this pic taken.

The city below.

Devils Peak with the sky lighting up behind it.

Yet another beautiful sunset in Cape Town.

Sea Point lighting up as the sun sets far behind.

Cape Town by night.

My soul is yet again feeling filled to over-flowing with the blessings of life, love and the beautiful soul’s who walk this journey with me. Tonight, I’m one day closer to realising my dream of climbing Kilimanjaro and once again I have such gratitude for the life I live!

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.
