Standing on the Roof Top of Africa!!

We Did It!!!!

On the morning of Friday, 13th July 2012, Donna and I reached Uhuru peak ~ 5895m!!!

Climbing Kilimanjaro was the most amazing experience, shared with beautiful souls who walked this journey with us, each for their own personal reason, but all with one goal ~ to reach the summit.  Memories of a lifetime made and after what was a long and hard summit night, exhausting us both mentally and physically, we walked through the night and after sunrise we reached our goal, Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro!

I don’t have confirmation yet, but unconfirmed reports tell me that I managed to raise R21 000 for Cystic Fibrosis ~ Huge gratitude to all of you for helping make my dreams come true. One day we will turn CF into cure found!

I don’t need easy, I just need possible!  Nothing is every impossible ~ believe it!!

Awesome! I wasn’t sure what day or route you were going up, but I stopped by the cabins at Kibo to ask if there was a group from South Africa climbing. I thought it would be fun to say hello. I see you went up another route :) Congratulations on reaching your goal and raising money for CF.

Ah Claire, thank you so much! It was such an amazing journey up that mountain! The whole journey is still sinking in now and I’m finally beginning to play catch up now that I am back! I hope you are well and I look forward to catching up with your blog and seeing what you have been up to while I was away.
