“Take chances, take a lot of them.

Because honestly,

no matter where you end up and with whom,

it always ends up just the way it should be.

Your mistakes make you who you are.

You learn and grow with each choice you make.

Everything is worth it.

Say how you feel, always.

Be you, and be okay with it.”

I wasn’t going to post today because my last post was also a ChooseDay post and I just couldn’t find the right quote and I wasn’t feeling overly inspirational today (fancy that, I’m human too). That was until Abby posted this quote on Facebook and it was perfect, so thanks Abby!

I have so much I want to share with you all. So many exciting things are happening in LaLaLand! When I have come back up for air after I have finished being swallowed up by the whirlpool of assignments that I am currently working on for my studies, I will blurt it all out here. Things are crazy good and crazy busy and if only I had another 39 hours in each day I would get everything done so much quicker!  I never thought I would say this but there is something truly wonderful about working full-time, studying my honours degree part-time and living it up in-between ~ squeezing every drop of juice out of the marrow of life and loving it all!

On Sunday I managed to pry myself away from my computer and out of my study, where I had been working on an assignment since Friday night, and I headed out to the mountain for my first hike in four months. It felt so good to be back on the mountain. Pictures and a story to go with it will follow later this week, when I find those extra 39 hours!

So in the meantime….

Take some chances.

Sing out aloud.

Dance like crazy.

Laugh until it hurts.

Be random.

Be You.

And love the life you have!

May you all have a ridiculously awesome ChooseDay!

What This World Needs Is Love ~ (Happy) ChooseDay!

“There is a light in this world, a healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering, too much pain. Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways.” ~ Mother Teresa

It is hard to say Happy ChooseDay on a day where the world is filled with sadness and horror.  Last night news of the Boston Marathon began filling the world’s newspapers and TV screens and it is with such huge sadness that yet again we are shown that this world needs so much healing and love.  My heart goes out to every single person affected by this terrible and senseless tragedy.

Yet even though today the world fills with sadness as we watch events unfold in Boston, we still have the power of choice. We can still choose to look through the lens of love even in the midst of all this turmoil.  May we all make way for healing and repair and open portals of light where darkness seemingly prevails. Miracles do happen and we need to make way for them.

We need to act as if we can make a difference.

We need to send out ridiculous amounts of love to the world in order to heal.

For the world will change when love gets louder than hate.

Mother Teresa once said that she alone cannot change the world but what she could do was to cast a stone across the waters in order to create many ripples.

Just yesterday I met a dear friend for lunch before he flew out to the UK, where he is currently studying his Masters in Neuropsychology.  In catching up I excitedly told him about my next big adventure and how I wasn’t planning on stopping after that one either.

He took a sip of his drink and as he put it down he said to me. “Next time I’m going to come back and I’m going to be hearing that you want to cure world hunger and next thing I’m going to know is that world hunger is cured!” I smiled as he said that for my beliefs are spreading and you are all coming to know that I believe that we can do anything that we set our minds to do. I do not believe that anything is impossible in this world and although I would love to cure world hunger, it is not currently on top of my ‘agenda’ but that doesn’t stop me from believing it is possible.

I dream of world peace.

I dream of a time when we can all live in harmony.

I dream of a time when people can seek the good and start loving what is right.

I dream of a time when the world is filled with love.

A video that still stands the test of time and oddly enough it was a benefit single for African famine relief, but the words still pertain to our world today. It’s not up to the person next to you to begin making that difference. It starts with you. Reach out your hand and help someone see love instead of hate. I don’t believe we can change this world in an instant but I do believe we can begin making a difference one person at time. It’s true what they sing, “We can’t go on pretending day by day that someone, somewhere will soon make a change. We are ALL a part of this great big family and the truth, you know, Love is all we need.”

The same dear friend that I had lunch with yesterday is currently making his way back to his ‘other’ home to finish his Masters studies. A runner himself, he updated his facebook status this morning saying “Runners will overcome this together. It’s how we’re made. #bostonmarathon”

I believe in the power of healing and I believe Boston and the rest of the world will find healing.

There is a hunger for love and at the end of the day we need to honour each other’s paths and in the hard, tough and sad times that filter into our world, we need to find the lesson.

The power of one clear light does illuminate the darkness and the power of one single person devoted to peace on earth can become a channel for healing grace that benefits all of humanity.

In your light, someone can learn how to love.

You hold love in the palm of your hand.

Will you reach out today?
